A Conversation with Naina Subberwal Batra, Chief Executive of AVPN

‘Build back better’; ‘Resiliency‘; ‘The new normal‘. While these catchphrases are fast becoming overused, they have opened a window of opportunity to forge lasting mindset changes – if we do not lose the momentum.

Against this backdrop, we are seeing more integrated efforts towards gender equality and climate action in Asia. In fact, adopting a gender and/or green lens in business  and investing decisions, grantmaking strategies, and policymaking is no longer just an option; it is now an imperative for sustainable development. Yet, important questions arise: how do we build an investment track record for incorporating a gender and/or green lens? How can corporates deploy their resources to drive inclusivity and sustainability through their core business activities? Furthermore, are there collaborative opportunities that integrate the often siloed pillars of gender and climate?

Join us for our first virtual event in 2021 with a conversation with Naina Subberwal Batra, CEO and Chairperson of AVPN, a leading social investment network and ecosystem builder in Asia. Naina will share her perspectives on how capital providers can leverage their resources for good and mobilise them effectively. With over 600 diverse members, AVPN breaks down silos across foundations, investors, corporates, policymakers, research institutes, and more, to leverage the full continuum of capital towards impact. The session will be moderated by HBSAHK Officer Philo Alto (HBS MBA/MPA 2000).

The conversation will tackle topics such as:

  • Key impact capital trends and flows in Asia, with a focus on gender and green financing
  • Successful cross-sector collaborative approaches that have driven enduring change
  • High-impact opportunities that align your values and the work that you do

Guest Speaker:
